Songkran is the Thai new year celebrations. This Thai costume merry-making is the Kingdoms most fun filled festival celebrated with tremendous enthusiasm nationwide. Songkran extends a period of 3 days in most of the country.

The characteristic of this festival is the tradition of water throwing from a polite splash to water well aimed bucket. It is a refreshing solution to beating the heat in the hottest season of the year.

However it has a deeper meaning which is thanks giving and is then a process of cleansing or purification. Starting the year a fresh. This symbolic cleaning process signifies purity.
