Tropical love: Sharing our dreams

Sitting in your office with the heaters on, you look out of the window it's snowing badly and you sit back on your desk in the corner and daydream.

Sunny beaches, long white sandy beaches, swimming under the waterfall surrounded by palms, cactus. Drinking your coconut drinks decorated with tropical flowers and the sound of birds in the surroundings. Total relax, total peace, away from all the towns black from smog and everybody running looks hell on earth.

It's called Paradise in other words. Tropical love spreading like the tropical winds. Dream and it will come true.

Caravan Holidays

Caravan travellers to Scotland can now enjoy the Turnberry caravan site scotland one of the most tranquil, pleasant and family run parks on the western coast of Scotland just 300 meters from sea. My friends emailed me they were looking for a caravan home, and were looking for a place for families where they could enjoy their evening walks, now I have learn’t about Turnberry I will be happily replying to their email.

Turnberry a lovely park covering 22 acres of rural parkland and giving unspoilt views of Ailsa Craig and Firth. I can imagine the rolling hills and the beaches and of course for those who love golfing just a mile from the Park.

For families with children enjoy the afternoons at the childrens arcade and play areas. And for the younger ones can opt to go fishing. This looks so perfect for my friends and I can’t wait to mail them.

Hop over to Turnberry caravan site scotland and see what’s up for sale or hire and start planning your summer in time before the rush.

Kenya safaris: The World-famous Wildebeest migration

WILDEBEEST MIGRATION
"One of the World's biggest spectacles". Many has so described it. Many have come back time and time again. They have witnessed this mass movement of wild animals roaming free through unspoiled and savage wildness. The air fills with the click click of the cameras tirelessly. You have not seen something like it before.
"Africa is changing at a quick pace and human encroachment into the wildlife reserves have continued to erase the traditional routes. In association with development and changes of the way of life, the image of wildlife roaming free is slowly getting erased. Fortunately , Masai Mara National reserve holds on to its charisma of an open, limitless land. It is one of the places in Africa that yet prides in wildlife concentration and everybody has to see it." Victoria, Washington.

Masai Mara is located in the Southwestern of Kenya, 180 kilometers from Nairobi. World famous for the abundance of wildlife and the remoteness of the reserve implants memories that no money can buy.

The Migration is a recent phenomenon ( 60's and 70's was the biggest boom) with about 250,000 individuals and gradually with time the number has risen to the current population of over 3,000,0000 individuals. Add to it an estimate 1,500,000 Zebras and the result is one of the most magnificent scenes in the world. The massive display attracts hundreds of the big cats as the populations provide abundant prey. The giant African crocodiles lie in wait, patiently, as the big herds come to cross or to water.

It is the masai community who are not so pleased with the whole phenomenon: competing with the wildebeest for pastures and rear their huge herds of boran cattle to the grasslands. To them it is a big calamity especially because the "wild cattle" transmit diseased to their herds and poison the waters the their fetal sacs.

This world famous phenomenon is a circle of life which in simple terms means that there is not a start or or an end. Only where the herds are located at a particular time.
The big determinant is the availability of pastures. The plains of Ngorongoro Conservation Area in Serengeti is a favored spot as grass abounds and the wildebeest find as safe place to graze. It also here that over 500,000 new calves are born and many are taken by the nearby waiting Jackals or Hyenas.

Survivors have little time to strengthen their legs as soon after the pilgrim continues in April. By then, the rains are over in southern Serengeti and the plains have dried up. The great herds then gather and face the long march northwards and westwards. The natural lawn mowers abandon the exhausted grasslands of southern Serengeti to head for the already tall grass of the Western Corridor, near the shores of Lake Victoria.

The pioneers of the migration movement are the majestic herds of zebras as they prefer the long stems of the coarse grass. This way they leave behind them shorter grass to the wildebeests.
In late June to July the mass starting pouring into the Kenya Masai Mara reserve where fresh, tender and mineral-rich grass is already waiting. Here they meet the resident Mara populations which add up to about 150,000. Also commonly referred to as the Loita plains herds, they spend most the season northeast of the Mara. When it gets dry the pour into the interior of the Mara in search of greener pastures.

The migrating herds spend roughly 3 to 31/2 months in the Mara crossing through Sand River which is a tributary of the Mara along the boundary of Kenya and Tanzania. They trek westwards and across the Mara river and sometimes the Talek river. Usually around this time heavy rains on the Mau Escarpment (origin of Mara River) fill the Mara river to the brim. This is a good time to watch the trunk-looking crocodiles while they await the forthcoming feast.

Finally they jump into the river and these gregarious coordinated behavior of the herds, sometimes teamed with zebras, creates an unimaginable scene. usually they wander along the river looking for a convenient crossing point.

This is usually a moment filled with tension for both the gnus and the audience. They survey for a convenient crossing point, less steep and with no obvious danger. Finally one takes courage and plunges into the river and magically the rest falls onto the footsteps and in one organized line cross the river.
In addition to the crocodiles, dangers also occur whereby the current of the river can be too strong for some simply getting stuck between the rocks in the river and breaking limbs. This is a direct ticket to the jaws of the giant crocodiles.

Finally the crossing is done and the trek to their unknown destiny (or known) continues.
In the month of October they are already heading to Serengeti where the rains have treated the southern grasslands to lush, green carpet of rich grass. Once again they are heading to the southern plains of where a new generation will be born to start the cycle of life all over again. It is one of Natural Track Safaris most famous Itineraries.

Egypt: Must see travel destination in Egypt

Easy Egypt: The New Beach Hotspot

By : Matthew Pressman

As British tourists seek to visit new and more culturally exotic destinations, the North African country of Egypt has steadily increased its share of visitors. And with golden sands, turquoise seas and a perfect outdoor climate, it's little wonder that over one million tourists from the UK visited the country in 2007.

So what sets Sharm El Sheikh apart from other popular beach destinations such as those in Spain, France or Italy? Well, one of Egypt's biggest draws is the abundance of prime scuba-diving sites, including the famed reefs of the Ras Mohamed National Park and Far Gardens, situated between Naama Bay and Sharks Bay. Here, fans of marine life will find plenty of opportunity for snorkelling and a large selection of diving centres which offer scuba courses for all levels of diver from beginners to qualified dive masters alike.

Visitors to the Red Sea's underwater world can see hundreds of species of aquatic life including turtles, lion fish, moray eels, giant clams, crocodile fish, blue spotted stingrays and the imperial shrimp. A big bonus of diving in Egypt is the price; Sharm El Sheikh is one of the cheapest places in the world to get a PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) qualification.

For those who just want to top up the tan, Sharm El Sheikh's position on the very tip of the sunny Sinai Peninsula provides miles and miles of soft, white sandy beaches and warm, blue waters which lap the shores. Sports fans can enjoy Sharm El Sheikh's PGA golf course and tennis courts, and the health spas provide the ideal way to relax after a day's exertions.

But Sharm El Sheikh is not just an outdoor enthusiast's paradise; there's plenty for the socialite too. Why not try smoking the delicious local fruit tobacco at a sheesha café, before heading off to dine in one of the many restaurants? Finish the night off by mixing with the locals and other visitors at the various bars and discos that are scattered around the area. And as well as offering an exotic blend of North African and Middle Eastern influenced attractions at the bazaars and souks, Sharm El Sheikh also offers shopping in Western style enclosed shopping malls where duty free goods can be bought at bargain prices.

With the increasing popularity of Egypt as a vacation destination, cheap holidays to Sharm El Sheikh are readily available, with package deals including flights, food and hotel accommodation rivalling those in more traditional beach locations in France, Spain and Italy.

So if you're looking for a holiday which combines, sun, sand and scuba with culture and clubbing, then skip Spain, forget France and enter Egypt.

Egypt: Must see travel destination in Egypt

I have been to Egypt 9 months ago and I would love to go back many times. If you are undecided of what to do this summer start planning now:

Top Ten Places To Visit In Egypt
by: Jonathan Williams

There’s no other place in the world that holds more mystery than the country of Egypt. The smell of the mysticism of the ancient Egyptians still lingers over the place. This ancient atmosphere seems to fill its every nook and cranny with secrets yet untold.

1.) Pyramids of Giza

And perhaps there is nothing more mysterious, and more worthy of seeing in Egypt than the esteemed Great Pyramids of Giza. These are the pyramids of Khufu, Kafhre, and Menkaura. These perfectly shaped structures leaves everyone in awe and in wonder about how exactly they were made, considering that the ancient Egyptians had no advanced technology to work with.

2.) Sphinx

And of course, if you’re going to go to the Great Pyramids, then you might as well go to the Sphinx. This is one of the most mysterious structures in Egypt. Even now, archeologists are still arguing about its origin and its purpose, making it the subject of the famous phrase, “the Riddle of the Sphinx.”

3.) Abu Simbel

These two temples were built by Pharaoh Ramesses II to commemorate himself and his wife, Nefertari. It’s a breathtaking place, and its temples are hailed as one of the most beautiful in Egypt. What’s even more interesting about the Abu Simbel is the amount of effort put into relocating and preserving it.

4.) Cairo

And of course, if you really want to immerse yourself in Egyptian culture, it would be best for you to go to the capital city, Cairo. The place is teeming with bazaars and restaurants where you can buy your taste of Egyptian culture. It’s surely not a place to miss.

5.) Temples of Karnak

What better way to experience ancient Egypt than to visit the very place where they worshipped their gods. The Temples of Karnak is the biggest site for Egyptian worship. It has a monument to just about every god in the Theban religion.

6.) The Nile River

And of course, you can’t miss out on the famous Nile River. It is, after all, what nourished Egypt and turned it into the place of wonder that it is. In fact, what’s great about visiting the Nile is that you can take a Felucca and sail down the legendary river, taking in the sights of the city and the sunset.

7.) Valley of the Kings

The Valley of the Kings or Biban El Moluk is the place where Egypt’s most esteemed pharaohs were buried. This place is teeming with mummies and undiscovered treasures. In fact, this is the place where archeologists found one of the most famous mummies of all time – Tutankhamun.

8.) Egyptian Museum

Of course, since it would be unwise to leave the Egyptian treasures in the tombs they were found in, the archeologists put them in the Egyptian museum where they would be put under high security. If you want to learn about Egypt, this is the best place to start. There’s no other place with a higher concentration of Egyptian artifacts, and you can even follow the tour so that you can be oriented with the history of each of the artifacts.

9.) Siwa Oasis

Egypt isn’t all about temples and pyramids, there’s a place where you can just let loose and have fun – the Siwa Oasis. Here, you can take a swim in the cool waters to ward off the desert heat. It is rumored that Alexander stopped here during his great conquest.

10.) Necropolis of Sakkarah

And indeed, you can’t miss something as intriguing as a ‘Necropolis’ or, if translated, a City of the Dead. Here, you will find the less popular pyramids of Egypt, the step pyramids. However, though they are less popular than the great pyramids, they’re still suffused with great history and culture.
