Bangkok travel and sight seeing
I would advice every visitor to stop here on your trip to Bangkok. Grand Palace is the former residence of the Kings of Bangkok, visit the revered Emerald Buddha, Golden Chedi, Pantheon of the Chakri Kings and the Eight Coloured Towers.
You can take photos only on the palace grounds and in the compound of the Emerald Buddha but not inside. Dress code applies.
Open everday from 8.30 a.m. to 16.30 p.m.
Tickets sold until 15.30 p.m.
Getting to the Grand Palace is quite easy: can either take the boat( Chaophraya Express Boat to the Chang Pier (Tha Chang)or book a half or full day tours with travel agents.

Closed or not? Watch out
When we visited Thailand for the first time in 2002 we went to the Grand Palace as soon as some people around there saw us they came to us and told hey! Where you go? we said to the Grand Palace and they all convinced us that it was closed and the only solution was to take one of the tuk tuks to another temple which was open nearby.
This is a common phrase many tourist are aware of, just ignore and better check your selves. It is always open unless there is a state function. You can always check with your hotel before you leave.
Grab a map from your hotel or Tourist authority counters at the airport or near major attraction sites.
Don't fall for closed advice.

Thailand is miracle land for tourists. I like historic temples in Ayuthaya but i didn't has a good chance to go there. Thank you so much for your picture and story blog.
